The Story Behind House of Daydreamers
Hi, I’m Valerie Judith, the reader and creator behind House of Daydreamers.
Books have been my escape since childhood, from Goosebumps and Fear Street to the romance, fantasy, paranormal, and dystopian stories I love today. But somewhere along the way, reading stopped being something I only wanted to enjoy by myself. I wanted to create, share what I was learning, and build a place where other readers could feel inspired and connected too.
House of Daydreamers is where I share the books I cannot stop thinking about, ideas for making reading life more meaningful, and my journey as I explore tiny book clubs, creative projects, and writing a story of my own.
This is a space for readers who believe books can be more than a hobby. They can bring people together, wake up our creativity, and make everyday life feel a little more magical.
How It All Began
Books became my escape long before I ever imagined building something around them. As a kid, I reached for Goosebumps and Fear Street, always looking for a story that could pull me into another world.
Then life got busy, and for a while, reading slipped into the background.
During COVID, I picked up Dead Until Dark and found my way back. One book became another, then came Kindle reads in bed, audiobooks while I did any activity, and stories I could not stop thinking about after they ended.
I was not only rediscovering reading. I was rediscovering a part of myself.
Eventually, keeping that excitement to myself stopped feeling like enough. I wanted a place where I could share the books I loved, explore my own creativity, and connect with other readers who understood how much stories can add to everyday life.
That idea became House of Daydreamers.

Beyond the Bookshelf
House of Daydreamers began with book recommendations, but it is growing into a place for everything our love of stories can inspire.
Here, you’ll find reading-life ideas, tiny book club adventures, creative bookish projects, and behind-the-scenes pieces from my journey toward writing a story of my own.
I’m interested in more than what we read. I’m interested in the conversations, friendships, ideas, and experiences that books can create around us.
My hope is that this space helps you find stories you love and inspires you to make your own bookish life feel a little more connected, creative, and magical.
A Little More About Me
I’m a mom of three, a mood reader, and the kind of person who will listen to an audiobook during any activity to distract me, read something completely different on my Kindle before bed, and still add five more books to my TBR.
I love romance in almost every form, especially when it comes with magic, paranormal creatures, dystopian worlds, complicated relationships, or a heroine I can immediately root for. I prefer first-person stories because I do not only want to watch the story unfold. I want to feel like I am living inside it.
When I’m not reading, I’m usually creating something, planning a gathering, designing in Canva, thinking about the book I hope to write, or finding little ways to make ordinary life feel more special.
House of Daydreamers is where all those parts of me come together.
