Which Twisted Book Is The Best? I Ranked All 4
If you’ve spent any time on BookTok, you’ve probably heard someone mention the Twisted series by Ana Huang.
At this point, it’s almost impossible to avoid.
The series follows four interconnected couples, so while each book can technically stand on its own, I definitely recommend reading them in order. You’ll get so much more out of watching the friendships, inside jokes, and relationships develop from one book to the next.
Now here’s the important part.
Not every Twisted book hit the same for me.
Some completely took over my life. One had me kicking my feet like I was sixteen again. Another left me staring at my Kindle wondering what I was supposed to do now.
And one… was just good.
So if you’re wondering whether the series is worth reading, or you’re trying to decide which book deserves the hype, here’s how I’d rank them.
Disclaimer: every single one of these books is at least a 4-star read for me. So even my “least favorite” is one I’d genuinely recommend. Let’s get into it.
#1 — Twisted Love
Read this if you like: Brother’s best friend, grumpy sunshine, protective heroes, billionaire romance.
Ava Chen is trying to move forward from a traumatic childhood. Alex Volkov, her brother’s best friend, has spent years keeping everyone at arm’s length until Ava slowly breaks through the walls he’s built around himself.
I know this isn’t the ranking most people expect.
A lot of readers put Twisted Games or Twisted Hate at the top.
For me, it’s always been Twisted Love.
There’s something about Alex and Ava that just worked. Watching Alex slowly fall apart over this woman was one of my favorite parts of the entire series. Underneath all the cold billionaire energy is a man who would do absolutely anything for her.
Yes, I wish the big reveal had packed a little more punch.
Did it stop me from loving this book?
Not even close.
It’s the one that introduced me to this world, made me fall in love with the friend group, and immediately convinced me I needed to read the other three books.
Looking back, I think that’s exactly what a first book in a series should do.
Best moment: Alex’s inner monologue. That man is all about Ava and it is delightful.

#2 — Twisted Hate
Read this if you like: Enemies to lovers, witty banter, emotional romance, forced proximity.
Josh Chen and Jules Ambrose have spent years arguing every time they’re in the same room. When circumstances force them closer together, all that frustration starts turning into something neither of them expected.
This is enemies to lovers done right.
The banter had me smiling from the first chapter, but what surprised me most was how emotional this book became. Josh and Jules both have so much more depth than I expected, and watching their relationship change felt completely earned.
There were moments that genuinely caught me off guard, and one scene had me staring at my Kindle wondering why fictional people continue to hurt my feelings.
If Twisted Love didn’t exist, this would’ve easily been my number one.
Best moment: No spoilers, but Josh shows up for Jules in a way that completely blindsided me. I closed my phone and just sat there for a minute. In a romance novel. That happened.

#3 — Twisted Lies
Read this if you like: Fake dating, obsessive heroes, slow burn, billionaire romance.
Stella Alonso is trying to grow her business and avoid unnecessary distractions. Christian Harper, one of the city’s most powerful men, has other plans after a fake dating arrangement brings them closer together.
Christian Harper is walking proof that therapy would have been cheaper.
Instead, he chose obsession.
The fake dating setup asks you to suspend your disbelief a little, but once I accepted it, I had so much fun. Christian is protective, patient, and completely gone for Stella long before she’s aware of it.
My only complaint is the ending. After all that tension, I wanted just a little more time with the payoff.
Best moment: When the fake dating cracks and you see just how far Christian is willing to go for Stella. I wasn’t okay.

#4 — Twisted Games
Read this if you like: Bodyguard romance, forbidden love, royalty, slow burn.
Princess Bridget is next in line for the throne. Rhys Larsen is the bodyguard assigned to protect her. Falling in love was never part of the job description.
Bodyguard romances are usually an automatic yes for me, so I went into this one with high expectations.
Rhys is exactly the kind of hero I love. Quiet, protective, loyal, and completely devoted to Bridget. Every scene between them had me hoping they’d finally give in to their feelings.
My only reason for putting this one last is because I connected more with the couples in the other books. It’s still a great romance, but the others had me more emotionally invested.
Best moment: The moment Rhys breaks. You’ll know it when you get there.

Final Thoughts
One of my favorite things about the Twisted series is that everyone ranks these books differently.
I’ve seen readers swear Twisted Games is the best.
Others will defend Twisted Hate with their entire chest.
And then there are the Twisted Lies fans who would probably fight anyone who disagrees.
Me?
I’ll always be a Twisted Love girl.
